" I was in your GRE class at Peace College, and I just wanted to let you know that it really made a difference in my score. I took the GRE on sat. and my verbal score went up 90 points and my math score went up 100 points! Thank you so much for all your help! "

The GRE is meant to test your overall academic ability. The skills tested in the GRE presumably represent core abilities: verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and analytical writing. Help improve your scores by learning from those who have had great success teaching and taking standardized tests.
Until 2007, the verbal portion of the GRE will still be testing Antonyms, Analogies, Sentence Completion, and Reading Comprehension. However, in 2007, the GRE drafters will be removing the analogies and antonyms section, shifting emphasis instead to critical reading and sentence completion. Computer skills will continue to come in handy, as you will be highlighting passages from reading sections rather than answering multiple choice sets.
There will be fewer Geometry questions in the Quantitative portion of the exam, with more testing of complex reasoning skills. More specific questions will be given in the recently updated Analytical Writing Section. This should prove more difficult for the pure "memorizers."
Note: In 2007, the essays, and not just your total score on this section, will be accessible to college admission officers.
There are currently two mandatory short essays required in the writing assessment. You are given 45 minutes to compose a response concerning your opinion of one of two "issues."
On the current computer adaptive version of the "quantitative" section, you will be given 45 minutes to complete approximately 28 questions. Questions include arithmetic, algebra, geometry and data analysis.
While GRE quantitative questions are often somewhat more difficult than SAT questions, the tested skills and mastery of those skills are very similar, and that is why we often break down the individualized tutorials in much the same way for the GRE as for the SAT.
The tutorials we offer for those taking the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) will emphasize fundamentals of the required verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills students have learned in school. There are three sections:
Analytical Writing: In our sessions, we will measure the student's ability to manage time effectively, in order to best complement the brainstorming, outlining, writing and revision process necessary for great scores. We provide for students a number of essay simplification techniques; including varying lengths of sentences, syntax/mechanical errors, and key phrases to help support points of view.
Make no mistake. A few points extra, in select sections of this exam, dramatically improves students' chance of first-choice school admission. By answering only half the questions correctly, a typical potential law school student will score close to the 40th percentile.
Why not improve your odds dramatically? Only four more correct answers per section of the test will land the same student in the 70th percentile.
Our tutors will first analyze any glaring weaknesses by way of numerous practice questions and various reasoning and comprehension examples. Learn how to write clear and supportable positions. Improve your approach to even the most difficult Logic Games on the LSAT.
BrainTrust Tutors have been sitting exactly where you are — and yet they all scored above the 80th percentile. They will help you minimize the anticipated stress and competition of this exam.
